EXECUTIVE BRIEF

By 2015, all Future Capitals will support the regional development of resilient approaches for customs and ports agencies to facilitate collaborative trade and stimulate competitive advantage. This initiative analyzes the critical transition decisions an organization must make in the next five to six years to modernize customs and ports agencies to become the catalyst for new sources of revenue, and achieve resiliency through advanced ICT, quality safety standards, and effective collaboration with the business community.

This session answers the following questions:

  • How can modernized agencies promote regionalization efforts?
  • What are the recommended partnerships between agencies and the business community?
  • What is working, and why?
  • How will innovations empower the development of a Connected Customs & Ports Community?
